Simon Irwin

Simon Irwin was born and raised in Warwick in Southern Queensland and started his working life as a stock and station agent before moving into the media sector where he had a 30-odd year career. Working for APN News and Media and News Corporation, he had responsibility for News Corporation’s regional publications across Australia. Simon has always maintained an interest in, and connections to, the rural community. He joined Beef Australia in January of 2022.

Joyce Routledge

Joyce joined the Beef Australia team in 2022 as Manager Finance. Joyce has an extensive background working in local government, not for profit organisations and has also owned and operated businesses. Joyce has lived and worked across the north of Australia with a preference for living north of the Tropic of Capricorn.

Kristy Kelly

Kristy Kelly joined the team in 2002 as an administration assistant.  Since then, she has worked in various roles including Trade Fair Coordinator, Administration Manager, Finance Manager, Operations Assistant and currently holds the position of Operations Manager.  Kristy is passionate about developing and building a site plan that caters to all event facets and looks forward to delivering a world class Beef 2024 for Rockhampton and the beef community.

Jacqueline Miles

Jacqueline joined the team in January 2017 as Sponsorship Manager for Beef 2018 and continued in a similar role for Beef 2021. Towards Beef 2024, her focus will be leading the partnerships and revenue team, which manages the organisation’s partners, sponsors, trade fair exhibitors, memberships, Beef 24 Club along with developing and launching a new online Beef Australia branded apparel line.

Emmagen joined Beef Australia in 2022 as the Marketing & Communications manager after 2 and a half years in destination marketing with Rockhampton Regional Council and a stint with Beef Australia in 2018 in sponsorship. Emmagen heads up the Beef Australia marketing and communications activity and oversees the event’s International, Beef Connections, School and Volunteer programs. Emmagen is passionate about tourism, events and economic development and looks forward to delivering a world-class event in 2024.

Tash Bury

Tash joined Beef Australia in 2022 as the Event Manager, with a background working in large scale festivals and motorsport events throughout Australia. Having grown up in Rockhampton Tash is excited to have the opportunity to deliver a world-class event in the region. Tash will build a team to deliver the program of events including cattle competitions, seminars and tech talks, entertainment, property, celebrity chefs and catered social events.

With an impressive event operations background, she looks forward to working closely with the team to help deliver a world-class event in 2024.

Melody Taylor

Melody joined the Beef Australia team in March 2023 to assist with all things administration in preparation for the event in 2024. A long-time Rockhampton local, Melody has a wealth of experience in providing quality administrative support across a range of sectors. She is excited to contribute to the delivery of this world-class event in 2024.

Jackie Kyte

National Beef Carcase Competition Coordinator

Jackie is a Director of a boutique conference and event business for the past 25 years, planning and delivering events for the north Australia beef industry and returns to Beef Australia as the National Beef Carcase Competition Coordinator. Jackie has worked with Beef Australia since 2000, initially as a member of the Consumer Focus Committee and then as a Coordinator of various committees, e.g., Seminars and Symposium Committee, National Beef Carcase Competition and International Committee. Jackie was also the Sponsorship Manager for Beef 2015. 

Lydia Shaw

Lydia grew up in Central Queensland and has recently returned to the area after more than thirty years. Throughout her working life, she has been exposed to a broad range of industries including major international events, which took her around the world for many years. Lydia joined the team in May 2023, and will be supporting the sponsorship program with project management, stakeholder engagement and brand delivery.

Renee joined the Beef Australia team in June 2023 as the Marketing Coordinator. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing and Management. With previous administration experience, Renee looks forward to developing marketing campaigns for Beef2024. She is excited to contribute to the delivery of this world-class event.

Zoe Sparks

Catering and Functions Coordinator

Zoë joined Beef Australia with an extensive background in event, conference and function management, as well as group travel, festivals and exhibitions. In recent years she has delivered a number of events and festivals in the food and beverage space and is looking forward to using these skills with the wider team to deliver a world-class event in 2024.

Kirsten joined the Beef Australia team in August 2023 as Logistics Coordinator after 10 years’ experience working in Transport and Logistics (Rail) and 10 years as a State Emergency Services Volunteer working on the frontline of major community disasters and events.

Cassandra Kent

Content and Graphic Design Coordinator

Cassandra joined the Beef Australia team in 2023 as the Content and Graphic Design Coordinator, with over 10 years’ experience in marketing communications roles throughout Australia and the UK. A born-and-bred city girl who has now moved to the country, Cass is excited to be working for Beef Australia and looks forward to delivering engaging and creative designs for the 2024 event.

Noela Walls

International Coordinator

Noela was born and bred in Rockhampton and has been a lifelong resident of the Beef Capital.

Growing up in Rockhampton, Noela was always aware of the significant part the beef industry played in the City’s economy and greater CQ Region.

For the past 20- years she has been employed by Queensland Government where she held positions with Corrective Services including parole board secretary. Her most recent position was team leader with Department of Child Safety, Youth and Woman.

Noela is excited to have joined Beef Australia and working with a team to deliver a world class event in our great host city of Rockhampton.
