PITCHING THE FUTURE OF BEEF
Beef Australia’s Pitch in the Paddock competition is the only pitching competition of its type in the world, within the beef industry. It offers entrepreneurial talent the opportunity to present their beef-centric business idea, proof of concept, prototype, or new product to a panel of investors live, and on stage, in front of the largest gathering of beef industry stakeholders, influencers, media, and consumers in the Southern Hemisphere. After having passed the preliminary round, finalists will also have the chance to win a cash prize of $10,000 and be announced as Beef Australia’s 2027 Pitch in the Paddock winner.
More than a competition, Pitch in the Paddock identifies, develops, and showcases emerging ventures and innovations with the potential to create value for Australia’s beef industry. In 2027, up to ten finalists will also participate in a tailored Commercial Readiness Program before pitching live at Beef2027 on Wednesday, 5 May.
What’s new for 2027?
Beef2027’s Pitch in the Paddock will be more than just a pitching competition. It will introduce a stronger focus on:
- Commercial readiness: Finalists will join a tailored online program from February to April 2027, with 1:1 and group activities to strengthen their commercial proposition and prepare for future opportunities.
- Industry connections: Targeted lead development and selected introductions will help finalists start relevant conversations with potential customers, partners, and industry contacts before Beef2027.
- Innovation from anywhere: Solutions from any industry are welcome where they have clear, credible application and potential benefit for Australia’s beef industry or supply chain.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
New in 2027, audiences at Beef2027’s Pitch in the Paddock can vote for their favourite pitch, with finalists also having the chance to win the People’s Choice Award winner, alongside the $10, 000 prize for the overall Pitch in the Paddock winner.
