It is so important for all students, whether studying agriculture or not, to gain exposure to important messages about the agricultural supply chain and their place within it.
This program aims to educate primary and secondary students about the origins of their food and fibre and raise the profile of careers available in agriculture while showcasing the Australian cattle industry.
The sessions will connect students with various aspects of the agricultural supply chain including producers, agribusiness, suppliers, agents and more.

Suncorp Bank School Program
Suncorp Bank Schools Program (Tuesday – Friday) Commencing 9:30am, concluding at 1:30pm
For primary & secondary students
This program aims to educate primary and secondary students about the origins of their food and fibre, raise the profile of careers available in agriculture while showcasing the Australian cattle industry. The sessions will connect students with various aspects of the agricultural supply chain including producers, agribusiness, suppliers, agents and more. Groups will be fully immersed in Beef Australia partaking in scheduled education focused visits around the grounds.

The school tour program will run Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of Beef Australia commencing at 9:30am and concluding at 1:30pm, included are breaks for morning tea and lunch, all attendees will need to bring their own food and drinks.

Teacher Professional Development Workshops (Tuesday – Thursday)
Interactive, practical workshops for primary and secondary agriculture, science, hospitality, and technology teachers. The workshops aim to give educators the currency they need to teach food and agricultural education in schools. The workshops will also ensure teachers have the latest information and resources to promote agribusiness as a career path to their students. Workshops will link with the Ken Coombe Tech Yards, catering/food preparation and various Beef Australia vendors.
Career Conversations @ Beef 2021 (Tuesday 4th May 2021)
For secondary students
An informal networking event for secondary students to conduct concise discussions with industry representatives already involved within the agribusiness supply chain. The aim of Career Conversations is to provide access to key industry personnel highlighting career pathways and the diverse and exciting job opportunities available within the sector. The event includes an informal barbeque for attendees and open to all secondary aged students within the region including those in attendance at Beef 2021. Presented by Beef Australia, AgForce and CQU.
Westpac Property Tours Bursary Program
For secondary students
The Westpac Property Tour Bursary Program will immerse secondary students in tours which highlighting producer operations across a range of land types and management styles, showcasing innovation and best practice within the beef industry.
As a guest on the property tours you will experience some of Northern Australia’s premier properties and see first-hand why the Rockhampton region is acknowledged as the Beef Capital of Australia. Valued at $250 Beef Australia is offering one bursary for each half day property tour. The bursary will cover tour registration for one secondary student and one accompanying supervising teacher or parent. Does not cover transport or entry to Beef Australia 2021.

AgForce & Beef Australia Beef Boot Competition
For primary school students
Beef Boot is an educational competition for primary school students with the purpose of igniting an interest in agriculture whilst engaging them in a fun competition aimed at improving both their knowledge and their educator’s knowledge of the beef industry and the role of agriculture in their daily lives.
Students will decorate a ‘Beef Boot’ template to reflect the theme – ‘From paddock to my plate – what agriculture means to me.’ Winners will be announced during Beef Australia 2021 with prizes awarded to the winner in each age category with the Top 10 in each age category on display at Beef Australia 2021. Teachers will receive a resource pack with links to curriculum aligned beef industry resources and a virtual farm tour to show their students.

Career Snapshots -Your Agri-Future (Tuesday – Friday)
For secondary students
Young professionals will present a snapshot into their career providing an insight into the diverse range of career options available in agriculture and real-life career pathways into the industry.
The speakers will represent varied aspects of the agriculture industry from producers and policy makers to researchers, teachers and marketers. The event will provide students looking forward to a career in agriculture real-life examples of career roles and pathways and a greater understanding of the diversity of exciting career options available in the industry.
Focused on secondary school students, Career Snapshots will run on the stage in the Ken Coombes Tech Yards.

Suncorp Bank Kids Zone (Monday – Friday)
For children of all ages
An interactive education space for small children, primary and secondary students. Activities on offer include badge making, colouring-in, puzzles, farm toys, ride on John Deere tractors, ‘cook up’ on toy BBQ’s, follow the paddock to plate journey of beef cattle and a range of industry related puzzles, including meat cuts and careers information. The Suncorp Bank Kids Zone will have a mixture of agriculturally focused educational entertainment, from reliable industry sources and ‘fun, keep the kids amused’ entertainment.
