As Central Queensland prepares to host the Southern Hemisphere’s largest beef event, Beef2024 is inviting locals to learn more about agriculture and enjoy a unique food and entertainment experience, through the family and budget-friendly Twilight Pass.

Beef Australia CEO, Simon Irwin, said the pass had been custom made for locals to enjoy all the event has to offer in a format that delivered discounted access from 3pm until late.

“One of the big things we really want our local community to know is there is something at Beef2024 for everyone – you don’t need to be from a farming background to enjoy what is on offer,” Mr Irwin said.

“We’ve developed the Twilight Pass to allow people to come along and enjoy the incredible entertainment and food we will be showcasing in a way that works with family timelines and budgets.

“Beef Australia is always incredibly grateful to the community for hosting this event. We are proud to call Rockhampton home and want as many of our fellow locals to experience Beef2024 as possible.”

The Twilight Pass will allow guests to catch the end of the Trade Fair for a spot of shopping before relaxing in one of the dining precincts for an evening of delicious food and free entertainment.

M’Eat Street will be a not-to-be-missed dining destination that is all new at Beef2024.

“This is the heart of Beef2024’s food and entertainment precincts and will include a curated assortment of food trucks, bar and free entertainment program, with picnic tables ready to welcome our guests,” Mr Irwin said.

“We’ll also have a dedicated BBQ precinct featuring the biggest and best meat smokers and BBQs from around the country.

“There will be a range of other sit-down dining options for those who have time to take a moment for a longer dining experience featuring the very best beef Australia has to offer.”

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Murray Watt said there’s something for everyone at Beef2024.

“It’s an opportunity to come together in beautiful Rockhampton and enjoy everything this industry provides. Given that the last edition took place during the pandemic, which meant that international visitors were unable to join us on site, it’s genuinely exciting to know that people from all around the world will be able to join us and take advantage of this fantastic event.”

On Brighter Super People’s Day (May 6) entertainment will include country music legend Troy Cassar-Daley on the Ergon Network Stage, performing alongside two-time Golden Guitar winner Brad Butcher and Australian Idol finalist Denvah – a Rockhampton local.

“People’s Day is a great time to make the most of the public holiday and spend the day at Beef2024, but the Twilight Pass is another opportunity to come and enjoy great food and entertainment after work or school throughout the week,” Mr Irwin said.

“We’re also passionate about better connecting communities with where their food comes from, so this is the ideal chance to see livestock and speak with beef producers, to understand the journey food takes to our plates.”
