Beef Australia is proud to present the NBN Tech and Innovation Talks, a highlight of the Beef2024 program, staged at the NBN Tech & Innovation Talks Stage.

The series of talks got underway today and is set to engage industry leaders and those at the forefront of agricultural technology and innovations in the beef industry, with a special emphasis on sustainability, market-ready technologies, and carbon solutions.

Beef Australia Chief Executive Officer, Simon Irwin, said the program included hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions designed not only to educate but to inspire.

“The NBN Tech and Innovation Talks are designed to give producers actionable insights and useful tools to enhance sustainability and productivity in their beef enterprises,” Mr Irwin said.

“The program has been put together to cater to all levels of knowledge allowing you to just dip your toes or dive deep into latest methods and research.”

Hosted by former ABC correspondent turned Central Queensland beef producer, Martin Cuddihy, the program will be held in a distinctive, architecturally designed inflatable Air-beam Dome, located next to the Ken Coombe OAM Tech Yards and Innovation Hub named in honour of Ken Coombe OAM.

“Ken holds a special place in the history of Beef Australia, serving as Chair of the inaugural event staged in 1988 and a pioneer of on-farm computer technology,” Mr Cuddihy said.

“Innovation and technology are vital to the beef industry, providing value and efficiencies at all stages of the supply chain and that is what we will be exploring again.

“We’ve had startups who have scaled through evokeAG. Pitch in the Paddock at Beef2021 and are back at Beef2024 in the Ken Coombe OAM Tech Yards and Innovation Hub. It’s a genuine pathway for innovators and entrepreneurs.”

Highlights of the NBN Tech and Innovation talks include:

  • Carbon Conversations: a daily program of one-hour sessions beginning with the basics of farm carbon management and then delving deep into the latest methods and trends in measuring, mitigating and sequestering carbon.
  • Lunch and learn: these sessions will feature product launches and concepts that are new to the beef industry.
  • Partner presentations: featuring up-to-date research outcomes in the fields of artificial intelligence, emissions, environmental credentials and data, presented in a format to allow producers to take the knowledge home and apply it in their business.

Join us for a week of learning and innovation that will foster a deeper understanding of how technology can drive the future of the beef industry.
