Red Poll Champions announced at Beef2024
Omega 3 Red Polls have taken out both grand champion prizes in the Red Poll judging at Beef2024.
The 330kg exhibit, Omega 3 Voice, was named male winner, while Omega 3 Gigi was named grand champion female winner – both eight months old and exhibited by T.B. Lee & Co.
Judge Graham Brown said despite there only being one male and one female exhibit in the Red Poll judging, both were very worthy of the tricolour sash.
He said Omega 3 Voice was “spot on”.
“He’s got muscle and good spring of rib and a really good hindquarter,” Mr Brown said.
“He’s got great extension and a well laid in shoulder that goes into a nice refined front end, but he’s still masculine. I think he’s a pretty handy calf.”
He also praised Omega 3 Gigi.
“Congratulations to the exhibitors to bring out such a fine example. Unfortunately, she’s the only female here today but is well worthy of that tricolour sash. So congratulations to all connections involved with her.”
