February CEO Round Up

Published 27 February 2026

From the CEO

I am really pleased to announce Beef Australia’s newest recruits, including some people who I am sure will be very familiar to you.

Jackie Kyte has been appointed our Industry Events Manager and will be looking after our property tours, seminars, schools, tech and innovation programs for the 2027 event. Jackie brings vast experience in the conference industry across many sectors and will also oversee our audio-visual requirements at the event.

We also welcome Tom Busby, an award-winning singer/song writer both in his solo career and as one half of the noted Australia duo Busby Marou. Tom joins the team as Entertainment Coordinator.
A Rockhampton local, Tom brings an insider’s knowledge to the curation of our entertainment program and activities, that will take place across the Beef Australia stages.

Applications close in two weeks for the Graeme Acton Beef Connections program.

For those of you who are not familiar with this fantastic part of the Beef Australia event, it is a mentoring program for emerging leaders in the ag industry to receive mentoring from an acknowledged industry expert, alongside training that supports leadership development.

Participants work on a project of their choosing, which anchors their experience in the real world, rather than just exposing them to theoretical models.

Please encourage up-and-comers you know who are on a leadership journey to apply.  If you have a look at the list of past participants on our website, you will find many names that are now genuine leaders across the Australian ag industry.

Applicants can apply via the Beef Australia website, which includes the 2026/2027 Mentee Prospectus, the online application form, program alumni, and graduate testimonials.

Beef Australia will soon be seeking food vendors for our public on-site areas including Meat Street, Campgrounds, Coffee & Grab-and-Go and Express Grounds.
As always, Beef Australia is looking to demonstrate the versatility and fantastic taste of Australian beef and beef products being supplied by food trucks, mobile food outlets, coffee vans, corporate catering and the like. The prospectus is set for release next month.

Trade Fair Applications closed earlier this month, and we now have a Trade Fair Waitlist Application Form available for anyone who missed the cut off date.

You can find this form and the Charity Organisation Application Form, which remains open, here: Beef Australia | Exhibit With Us.

Cheers,
Simon
