As Beef Australia gears up for its highly anticipated event in 2024, the Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship will take centre stage, showcasing the pinnacle of excellence in the Australian seed stock industry.

With nominations closing in just over a week, Beef Australia have put the call out to producers to put forward their finest before it’s too late.

Beef Australia CEO Simon said the Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship is truly at the heart of Beef Australia, embodying the essence of quality and innovation in the seed stock sector.

“Nominations for the 2024 Championships have been strong, demonstrating the continued enthusiasm and dedication of the industry”, Mr Irwin said.

“We are pleased to see nomination numbers holding strong, mirroring, if not surpassing, the impressive figures of the 2021 Championship.

“It reflects the enduring commitment and passion within the stud cattle community.

“With international visitors back in attendance, the 2024 Championship not only presents an opportunity to exhibit the finest in Australian stud cattle to a national audience but also to a global stage.

“And for the first time in Beef Australia history, the Championship will be livestreamed through Beef Australia’s Beef TV program, ensuring that national and international audiences can tune in at any time to witness and celebrate the best of the best”.

Stud Cattle Championship Committee Chair James Kent said a notable development for this year’s Championship is the introduction of a separate category for Ultras.

“The Committee has been tirelessly working to elevate the standards of the Championship, ensuring it continues to be a benchmark for excellence in the seed stock industry”, Mr Kent said.

“In response to the evolving landscape of the industry, we want to ensure fairness and recognition for Ultra Reds and Blacks by judging them in their own dedicated category in the 2024 Championship.

“The Stud Cattle Championship Committee is thrilled by the overwhelming response to nominations and is eager to deliver a fantastic Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship in the heart of the Beef Capital, in May 2024”.

Queensland Minister for Agricultural Development and Fisheries and Minister for Rural Communities Mark Furner said the stud championship was the absolute top paddock competition for Beef2024.

“Producers have just seven days to nominate, and to do well at this event will give them some real muscle in the breeding industry across the world”, Mr Furner said.

“With nomination numbers set to break previous records, the inaugural TV broadcast of the event and the new Ultras category, this will be the stud championship of stud championships”.

Nutrien Ag Solutions NE Region Livestock Lead Colby Ede said Nutrien Ag Solutions is excited to continue their partnership with Beef Australia in 2024 as a Principal Partner.

“We are proud to support the Stud Cattle Championship, which showcases top quality cattle from across the Australian seed stock sector”, Mr Ede said.

“This Championship is a highlight of Beef Australia events, of which we’re thrilled to be a part of.

“As a Principal Partner, we look forward to collaborating with organisers and participating in this prestigious cattle Championship as entrants vie to be named the best of the best”.

Nominations for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Stud Cattle Championship opened in December 2023 and close on the 19th February 2024.
