Beef Australia is calling for the nation’s future beef industry leaders to apply for their Graeme Acton Beef Connections Program.
The 2023-2024 mentoring program will offer a unique 14-month course of knowledge development, skill application, and the building of a mentee and mentor relationship to deliver on a project that will positively impact the beef industry.
Beef Australia CEO Simon Irwin said applications for the 2023-2024 mentoring program are now open via the Beef Australia website.
“Due to the immense success of the Beef Australia Graeme Acton Beef Connections Program, we are now looking for our fourth intake of participants to join the program in the lead-up to Beef2024,” Mr Irwin said.
“We are looking for future leaders who are working or involved in any aspect of the Australian beef industry, including in production, processing, marketing, or agribusiness.
“The program is open to people aged up to 35 years and we will be looking to onboard up to 10 program participants.
“I encourage any future leaders of Australia’s beef industry who would like to participate in an industry-recognised training and development program to apply now via the Beef Australia website.”
Beef Australia Graeme Acton Beef Connections Program Alumna, Chloe Gould said that participating in the 2021 program as a mentee was one of the most valuable and influential opportunities that has contributed to building her future.
“Beef Australia’s Graeme Acton Beef Connections Program provided me with the opportunity to learn and develop both personally and professionally whilst building connections and a network of support from other mentees and mentors,” Ms Gould said.
“The program delivered real life learning, with tools and resources that has continued to empower and build confidence in myself to make a meaningful difference in my community.
“I encourage anyone interested in the program that is looking to advance their career in the beef industry to apply now.”
The application process involves completing an online form, providing an individual project pitch and submitting a 1-2 minute video via the Beef Australia website.
Applications will close on COB Friday, 3 March 2023.
