August Beef News
Published 12 August 2026

As the countdown continues, the days seem to be passing faster than ever.
Behind the scenes, our team is working closely with exhibitors, partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to bring Beef2027 to life. From planning world-class industry forums and educational opportunities to curating an engaging visitor experience, every day brings us one step closer to delivering an event that showcases the very best of the Australian beef industry.
Recently, our team attended the Ekka in Brisbane, one of Australia’s iconic agricultural events. Like Beef Australia, the Ekka celebrates the innovation, resilience, and achievements of our agricultural sector, while providing an opportunity for industry, producers, businesses, and the broader community to come together. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with stakeholders and strengthen relationships.
We’ve also opened expressions of interest for the Meat & Livestock Australia School’s Program, helping inspire and educate the next generation of agricultural leaders. If you are looking to take part in the program, I urge you to express your interest to ensure your students receive the most engaging and age-appropriate experience possible.
We have been working to provide more accommodation for visitors to the event, and 2027 will see a couple of new options. Firstly, the Acton family are going to open the Paradise Lagoons campgrounds for bookings from people who have a caravan or gooseneck and are happy to bring it to Beef. Always well used during the famous Paradise Lagoons campdraft, I am sure many of you will have experienced camping there before.
Secondly, for those from further away we have been working with air charter operates in Toowoomba, Townsville and Longreach to give greater visibility to flying as an option for day trips. If you get together with some family or friends, it can be a cost-effective alternative to staying overnight.
Lastly, Hedlow Airfield will welcome those with their own aircraft who wish to fly in and camp. Details on how to book these options will be up on our website very soon.
Further announcements, exciting opportunities, and event updates are just around the corner, and we look forward to sharing them with you in the months ahead.
Please join our Beef Australia mailing lists and follow our socials for updates.
Meet you at Beef2027!
Cheers,
Simon
Calling all Principals, Teachers and Students
The Meat & Livestock Australia Schools Program will once again take place at Beef2027, welcoming schools from across Australia to participate in a range of events and programs tailored for primary students, secondary students, and teachers. The program, developed by Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA), will offer students the opportunity to engage with the Australian beef industry through a series of curriculum-aligned, hands-on, and engaging educational sessions.
Through the Meat & Livestock Australia Schools Program, educators will team up with industry experts to deliver age-appropriate activities, demonstrations, and discussions through sessions that are designed to provide authentic industry connections while helping students develop a deeper understanding of the people, practices, and technologies shaping the future of the Australian beef industry. Students will investigate topics including:
- beef production
- nutrition
- sustainability
- cattle breeds and genetics
- technology and innovations
- animal welfare
- careers, and
- the science that underpins modern agriculture
Expressions of interest NOW OPEN
To ensure students receive the most engaging and age-appropriate educational experience possible, schools are invited to express their interest in attending sessions prior to registration (opening in November 2026), enabling organisers to develop tailored timetables and learning pathways for participating groups.
