The Australian Livestock Exporters’ Council (ALEC) is the peak industry body for Australia’s livestock exporters, and LiveCorp is the industry’s service provider and research organisation.
ALEC is responsible for setting industry policy, providing strategic direction and representing the trade nationally and across the world. It promotes continuous improvements to the trade’s business and market environments, and professional and animal welfare excellence throughout the supply chain.
LiveCorp is funded through statutory levies on the export of beef and dairy cattle, sheep and goats. It invests in a range of services that support the sustainability and competitiveness of the industry, including research and development, training, innovation, data and technology, market access, market intelligence and marketing Australian livestock overseas.
