Beef Australia was first staged as part of a national program of events and celebrations to commemorate the Australian Bicentenary. The exposition conducted in Rockhampton, Central Queensland was so well received by all stakeholders and attendees, it has been staged triennially ever since.
The internationally recognised event has grown in size and offerings in response to visitor and participants needs, with a focus on innovation, relevance and authenticity. Since it’s humble beginnings the event has grown immensely and now caters for over 100,000 visitors, including in excess of 1,200 international delegates from 43 countries who attend to enjoy, learn, and share in the immense trade opportunities the exposition generates.
The Rockhampton Showgrounds, the focus of most activities comes alive and is a place where prime ministers and other dignitaries share experiences with cattle producers and farmers, with scientists and agronomists, with local and visiting families and school groups, and with cooks and accomplished chefs from all corners of the globe.
