It’s time for the Rockhampton community to open their hearts and their homes to help accommodate the large influx of visitors expected during Beef Australia 2012.
To assist in meeting the increasing demand for a range of local accommodation solutions during Beef Australia 2012, we have established a community service based Homestay accommodation option as a means of addressing the ongoing accommodation shortage in the region over the week of the event.
Beef Australia will match local residents willing to open their homes with visitors in need of accommodation.
Beef Australia will act as a facilitation / booking agent, matching up the facilities in homes offered by local hosts, with the accommodation needs of visitors, at a per person per night fee set by Beef Australia.
All homes will be inspected to ensure they are up to a suitable standard, and hosts will be required to show proof of their public liability insurance, which is generally part of a Home Insurance Policy.
Note: As the Beef Australia 2012 Homestay Program is a community service designed to overcome a specific event accommodation shortfall, commercial operations and rental properties will not be considered as part of this program. Should a commercial operator or rental properties be interested in offering accommodation they should contact the Beef Australia Office to discuss their proposal separate from this initiative.
