With less than a week until the start of Beef Australia 2015, excitement is at fever pitch in Rockhampton as the finishing touches are put in place to the beef industry’s biggest event.
But time is also running out to book tickets and secure seats to a packed week of fun, food and great entertainment.
“What better way to cap off a great week in Rockhampton than by attending the signature event for Beef Australia 2015 – The Gala Beef Ball,” Beef Australia chief executive Denis Cox said.
“Get a group together for a glamourous night out under the stars, with tickets including a sumptuous three-course dinner showcasing Australian beef, premium wine, beers and spirits, and live entertainment by the talented Ali Crane, Keith Andrews and culminating with the Red Tie Band who will have everyone up dancing.”
The popular black tie event will be held on Saturday, May 9, on the Cremone Lawn at the Rockhampton Showgrounds. As well as adding a new layer of sparkle to the glitzy atmosphere, the move outdoors will allow for more people to attend the ever-popular evening.
Lovers of fine food also have a once in a life-time opportunity to be served by some of the world’s greatest chefs, with the Beef Australia International Restaurant featuring the likes of Hong Kong’s Alvin Leung, who has three Michelin stars, MasterChef Indonesia’s Vindex Tengker, and Australia’s own Ben O’Donoghue, Alistair McLeod, and Matt Golinski.
“These chefs are planning a banquet style beef feast, with different menus from different chefs daily – it’s an awesome opportunity but seats in the restaurant are limited and must be pre-booked,” Mr Cox said.
“There’s also plenty of fun in store for live music lovers, who will be up for a triple treat on Thirsty (Merc) Thursday, on May 7.
“Thirsty Merc have sold more than 200,000 albums, scored a #1 iTunes single with ’20 Good Reasons’ and been nominated for a handful of ARIA & APRA awards,” Mr Cox said.
They will be supported by upcoming country music stars Caitlyn Shadbolt and Mick Lindsay. At just 19 Caitlyn is already collecting accolades as a country music singer on national stages, including a top 5 finish in the X Factor. Mick Lindsay released his debut self-titled album in 2014 and peaked at #3 on the Australian iTunes country music charts, topped only by Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts.
And on Friday night May 8 visitors will be thrilled by all of the action of PBR Australia in the centre ring of the Rockhampton Showgrounds. A group of 40 of Australia’s most accomplished bull riding athletes will go head to head against some of the most extreme bucking bulls in the business.
