Country music superstar Kasey Chambers and Rockhampton’s own chart toppers, Busby Marou, can’t wait to perform at Beef Australia 2012, with the concert now just two weeks away.
The Country Collaboration Concert will be held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds on Friday, May 11, to mark the end of Australia’s national beef industry exposition.
The concert will feature a packed line up of country music stars, with Kasey Chambers and Busby Marou to be joined on stage by the winner of this year’s Tamworth Golden Guitar for best song, Shane Nicholson, as well as Bill Chambers and Ashleigh Dallas.
The multi-ARIA awarding winner Kasey Chambers will perform a mixture of her hits and songs from her new album The Storybook, which was released late last year.
“I’ve always loved performing in the Rocky area, but this time will be extra special as we’ll be sharing the stage with one of my favourite new acts Busby Marou,” Kasey Chambers said.
“We’ll play some old songs (from The Captain, Barricades and Brickwalls etc) right through to Rattlin Bones and Little Bird.
“We’ve also got some great special guests with my husband Shane Nicholson, my dad Bill Chambers and a fantastic new artist Ashleigh Dallas. Seeya all there!”
Rockhampton musicians Busby Marou said the Country Collaboration Concert was a great way for everyone in Central Queensland to be a part of Beef Australia 2012.
“Beef Australia is always an exciting time for Rockhampton,” Tom Busby said. “It doesn't come around often but when it does, the town is buzzing and the inclusion of Kasey and the Chambers crew will only add to that excitement this year.”
Beef Australia Chief Executive Roger Desailly said the expo was not just about showcasing the many new innovations in the cattle industry, but also about celebrating together as a community.
“This is a unique opportunity for our community to hear not just one star perform, but a whole line-up of top-shelf artists,” Mr Desailly said.
“This is a concert not to be missed. Tickets are still available but I encourage people to book ahead to guarantee their seat at this great finale to Beef Australia 2012.”
Adult tickets are $47, children aged 5-15 are $25, and children under 5 are free.
