Tickets are now available for the first ever Hoofs, Horns and Heroes Gala Ball, hosted by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and supported by Beef Australia, to be held during Brisbane’s Ekka Week.
The gala event will be held at The Members Dining Room at Suncorp Stadium at Milton on Friday 12 August.
RFDS CEO Mr Nino Di Marco said that the ball is a major event on the RFDS fundraising calendar.
“Some will see the ‘heroes’ in the name of our event as the doctors, nurses and pilots who provide quality, comprehensive health care in emergency situations and in rural and remote communities,” Mr Di Marco said. “But for the RFDS, the ‘heroes’ are those people who help us to continue our vital work through their donations and support of events such as this.”
Today, the RFDS provides the finest care to more than 270,000 Australians each year – that’s one person every two minutes. The RFDS provides face-to-face health services to more than 1000 Queenslanders every week, and ongoing fundraising is necessary to keep RFDS aircraft in the air and to purchase essential medical equipment.
The gala will also be the opportunity for those who have traditionally attended the Beef Ball during the Ekka week to show their support for the beef industry leading into the 2012 Beef Australia Expo in Rockhampton.
Beef Australia is supporting the RFDS to promote the “hoof and horns” component of the event theme and remind people that Beef 2012 is less than a year away.
Beef Australia CEO Roger Desailly said, “This event will be a great way to acknowledge and promote the important roles that both the RFDS and the beef industry play in the lives of country people and to show support for the RFDS and the triennial Beef Expo.”
Tickets to the event are $180, and can be purchased online at www.flyingdoctor.org.au/gala. The ticket price includes a delicious meal, drinks, and sparkling entertainment. For further information, contact email@example.com
